Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information From Stardust (the game) handles, who handles it, and on what basis. It applies to the Android app and to the browser version of the game.
In short: the game has no accounts and no servers of ours. Your progress stays on your device. The only personal information involved is what Google collects in order to show adverts and to process a purchase, and where the law requires it you are asked before personalised adverts are shown.
1. Who is responsible
Trip Star Studios is the controller of the personal information described in this policy, and can be reached at tripstarstudio@gmail.com.
2. What the game stores on your device
The game saves the following on the device itself, so that it can carry on where you left off:
- your progress and your unfinished run;
- your settings, such as sound, music and graphics;
- the forms, skins and sky styles you have unlocked, and how many reward videos you have watched toward one;
- whether you have bought Remove Ads, and whether you have accepted this policy and the Copyright & Terms.
None of this is sent to us, and none of it identifies you. Uninstalling the game, or clearing its data in your device settings, deletes it.
3. Advertising
The game shows adverts supplied by Google AdMob. In order to select, deliver, measure and report on adverts, and to detect advertising fraud, Google may collect and use information such as your device's advertising identifier, device and app information, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and how you interact with an advert.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland you are asked for consent before personalised adverts are shown, through Google's own consent form. You can change that choice at any time in the game under Settings → Ad privacy. Declining does not remove the adverts; it makes them non-personalised.
Your device settings also allow you to reset or delete your advertising identifier, or to opt out of personalised advertising altogether. How Google uses the information it collects is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Buying Remove Ads ends the advert breaks. Reward videos, which play only when you choose to watch one, remain available.
4. Purchases
Purchases are processed entirely by Google Play. We never receive or store your payment details. The game asks Google only whether a purchase belongs to the Google account signed in on the device, so that what you have bought can be restored when you reinstall the game or change device.
5. Legal bases
Where the General Data Protection Regulation applies, the bases for the above are:
- Consent, for personalised advertising and the identifiers it uses. It is asked for through Google's consent form and can be withdrawn at any time in Settings.
- Legitimate interests, for non-personalised advertising, basic measurement and the prevention of advertising fraud, which together fund a game that is free to play.
- Performance of a contract, for delivering and restoring a purchase you have made.
6. Who receives the information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for purposes of our own. The only recipients are Google, as the provider of AdMob and Google Play, and the companies Google engages to run those services. What they do with it is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
7. International transfers
Google processes information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Those transfers take place under the safeguards Google applies to its services, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
8. How long information is kept
What the game stores on your device is kept until you delete it, by clearing the game's data or uninstalling it. Information collected by Google for advertising and for purchases is kept in accordance with Google's own retention policies, which we do not control.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of your personal information, to receive a copy of it, and to withdraw any consent you have given.
Because the game has no accounts, we hold nothing that identifies you and so nothing a request could be matched against. Requests about advertising or purchase data are therefore best addressed to Google, and we will help where we can — write to tripstarstudio@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
10. Children
From Stardust is made for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the age at which they can give their own consent under the law of their country. The game does not ask for or store any information that identifies a player. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided personal information through the game, please contact us at tripstarstudio@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in substance, the version number and effective date above change with it, the new version is published on this page, and you are asked to read and accept it the next time you open the game.
